A Long Way from Nowhere
5 strapping young lads are embarking on a bike trip across the country. Here are bits and pieces of their journey and a few pictures as well. Some submissions might be interesting, some may be marginally amusing, and others might be a big waste of your time. Feel free to leave comments! Hope Colin's knee is well. The Fitz houshold is about to host Naomi and her bicycling group of 15 teenagers for dinner tomorrow night. One of them just had a crash and ended up at the Bar Harbor Emergency Room. No broken bones - just sprains/roadrash. Naomi laughed at Eric's new name.
Sounds like you guys should stay in Michigan a while. Did anyone bring a fly rod?

Hey Guys - Now you're really into the "Road Magic". I've always heard that riders are treated right in Michigan and I this proves it. I think of you everytime I go down to rec room and get on the exercise bike! The view just doesn't compete though. Hope you get a break from the heat. Believe it or not it is cool off the African west coast but it is winter on this side of the line. Good luck, and thanks Ed for the great updates. Wish you the best in the coming year.

Gentlemen,
Ian and I enjoy reading your travel diary notes very much. Partly because our computer is in the basement and it's 97 degrees with 90% humidity outside. NO No No just kidding. Adam and Rudy, work here in Cumberland is much the same as it ever was, if you can remember. It is mostly quiet business until the chattering squirrels, I mean electrians, show up. Meddy still asks when you are coming home. and we all miss you. So keep those topless photos coming! Be well, be safe we are thinking of you. Carol Wilson Smith
Boys,
Welcome to the Midwest. If there's anything that I can do for you as you pass through MN let me know. I'll be at my cabin on the north shore of Lake Superior from the 17th to the 23rd or 24th and then in the Minneapolis area until I leave on the 28th. However, I'm sure my parents would be happy to put you up if you come through Minneapolis while I'm gone. You can call me on my new cell-bomb at 603-236-2571. Enjoy the ride...
-Trevor
thats a long way that you've biked!!!
Hey guys!
Hope everything is going well..and you enjoyed the toblerone bars! I wanted to put 5 in my bag but i couldn't fit them all!! ( I wasn't exactly packing light) Anyways..I wanted to say congrats on your trip thus far. Justin tells everyone about you..especially the fact that colin is "not only biking across the country.. BUT ON ONE LEG"..haha I think he's more excited about this then you are...especially since everyone in his frat can't believe it. He told me to tell you all that you are welcome at AD anytime( he says you won't regret it..lol) , and you should definately come down in the fall. Good luck the rest of the way!
